Recreation & Entertainment Avon has a small-town feel, with plenty of community activities like picnics and festivals. Hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling are among the popular outdoor activities here. One of the only remaining drive-in theaters in the region is the Vintage Drive-In on Route 15 in East Avon, which has three screens. The enormous Avon Flea Market, which draws crowds from miles away in warm-weather months, is held on the drive-in grounds. The Avon Corn Fest is held each August. Conesus Lake, one of the smaller Finger Lakes, is only about 10 miles southeast of Avon. Letchworth State Park, often called the “Grand Canyon of the East,” is an enormous park with plenty of beautiful sites; the Mt. Morris entrance to the vast park is only 17 miles south of Avon. The Livingston Country Club is in Geneseo, as are the closest movie theaters. |
